Fireproofing of Reinforced Concrete
Reinforced concrete is a foundational material for building frameworks. However, under fire conditions, extreme temperatures cause concrete spalling and a severe drop in yield strength, risking structural failure. Our reinforced concrete fireproofing systems provide a high-performance thermal barrier. This significantly extends the fire resistance rating, preventing premature collapse and securing critical time for civilian evacuation while maintaining overall structural stability
Technology Products
Industrial Rock Wool Slabs
Product Description
Industrial Rock Wool Slabs are high-performance insulation materials available unfaced or with various factory-applied facing options, including glass fiber tissue and aluminum foil. These industrial slabs are manufactured across a wide range of densities (from 70 to 160 kg/m³) with distinct technical properties tailored to specific engineering and thermal requirements.
Product Application
The non-combustible nature of industrial rock wool slabs makes them the ideal choice for thermal, acoustic, and fire insulation under high-temperature operating conditions. The slabs are secured to smooth surfaces using dedicated mechanical insulation pins (welded/frictional studs). Following installation, they are either protected with sheet metal cladding or integrated into a surface-mounted framework. Additionally, these slabs are perfectly suited for use as the core insulation layer in prefabricated sandwich panels.

Rock Wool Slab "Lamella"
Product Description
Thermal Insulation & Fireproof “Lamella” Slabs are premium-grade rock wool materials engineered from natural basalt rock. They are specifically designed to maximize the fire safety of building structures. The slabs are strictly non-combustible (Class A1) and, depending on the modification, can be supplied with a factory-applied decorative coating
Product Application
Designed for the structural fire protection of columns, beams, and floor slabs in facilities with stringent fire safety regulations, such as parking garages, basements, shopping malls, and residential complexes. The system relies on securing the fireproofing slabs to the reinforced concrete substrate using a heavy-duty fire-resistant adhesive. This system guarantees a fire resistance rating for reinforced concrete floor slabs of at least 180 minutes (REI 180).

Purpose & Objectives
To preserve structural integrity and achieve mandated fire resistance ratings (REI 120, REI 180, etc.) for floor slabs, walls, and columns. This mitigates the risk of sudden structural failure, ensuring an adequate time window for safe evacuation and emergency rescue operation
Applications & Core Industries
Commercial & Civil Construction
- High-Rise & Multi-Story Buildings: Securing the required fire resistance profiles for structural columns, beams, and load-bearing floor assemblies in high-occupancy facilities.
- Warehouses & Logistics Centers: Heavy-duty fire protection of large-span structural elements to prevent catastrophic property loss and framework collapse.
Critical Infrastructure
- Tunnels, Bridges & Overpasses: Specialized protection against standard and hydrocarbon fire curves resulting from traffic accidents (e.g., fuel fires). It prevents the explosive spalling of concrete and shields embedded steel rebar from losing its tensile capacity.
- Transportation Hubs: Fireproofing of vital concrete elements across airport terminals, railway stations, and subway networks.
Specialized & Technical Facilities
- Parking Garages & Underground Decks: Reinforced concrete columns and slabs in these zones face high-intensity vehicle fires. Structural fireproofing delays heat transfer and restrains fire spread to upper floors.
- Manufacturing Plants: Targeted protection for industrial concrete frameworks within high-hazard production zones or chemical storage sectors.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Why does reinforced concrete require fire protection if it is already non-combustible?
While concrete does not burn, it rapidly loses its structural strength under extreme heat due to concrete spalling. Within just 15–20 minutes of a high-intensity fire, the internal steel rebar reaches critical temperatures and begins to deform, which can lead to a catastrophic failure of the entire structure
What fire resistance rating can be achieved with this system?
Depending on the thickness and specification of the protective slabs, the reinforced concrete structure can withstand direct fire exposure from 60 minutes (REI 60) up to 180 minutes (REI 180), fully complying with project-specific regulations
Can structural fireproofing be combined with thermal insulation?
Absolutely. Utilizing specialized rock wool fireproofing slabs allows you to address three critical requirements simultaneously: ensuring maximum fire safety while delivering high-performance thermal insulation and acoustic dampening for the facility
